Violin Selection of International Music Competition Harbin

time was from 21th to 22th in the 430 meeting room of the main building in
Harbin Conservatory of Music. Three jury members - Peter Grote/Germany, Vera Weiling
Tsu/China, and MaksimFedotov/Russia evaluated all application videos.
Peter Grote is
this competition’s General Secretary, who co-organized and managed many
international competitions. Vera Weiling Tsu is a renowned violinist and
educator, Professor and Master’s program advisor of Shanghai Conservatory of
Music and Central Conservatory of Music, Vice-President of China Violin Society
and China Federation of Chamber Musician as well as the Co-Chairman of the
inaugural Shanghai Isaac Stern International Violin Competition. She has been
invited to sit on the jury of many prestigious competitions worldwide. Maksim
Fedotov is a violinist and conductor of worldwide reputation from Russia, People's Artist of Russia (2002), Laureate of
the Moscow Government Award (2003), professor at the Moscow State Conservatory
(since 1987), and a Jury-member of International Violin competitions.
evaluated contestants according to their 20 min videos. There was no discussion
among the judges, who basically decided by yes/no voting - which is actually
the same system used in the competition and which is explained in the jury
rules on our website. The jury selected 30 contestants, who will be invited to
the competition in Jan. 2018.
Till now, three sections(voice, piano, violin) of IMCH have been
finished. The results will be published on 1 September on the website.
